On Tuesday, July 28, join us in Midtown Toronto for an evening of testimony, resilience, and renewal, brought together by Nova Canada and Restart. It is a night for hearing the people who lived the unthinkable and chose to begin again, and for seeing, firsthand, the work that makes those new beginnings possible.

Mia was only 21 when she went to a music festival and didn't come home. Shot at Nova and taken into Gaza, she was held by Hamas for 55 days. She was the first hostage they showed to the world, proof of life in their earliest video, her arm operated on by a veterinarian without medication or anesthetic. She survived. Now she tells her story for those who lived and those who were lost, carrying the words tattooed on her arm:
Restart rebuilds lives after life-altering injury. Working with survivors of terror and wounded veterans, their teams design and create custom technological solutions — the tools that help people regain movement, independence, and the ability to begin again. It's the work your seat helps fund.
Every device is built to one person's body and one person's goal — to hold a fork again, rediscover hobbies, become an active member of the home again, to return to a life that injury tried to take. On July 28, you'll see that work up close and meet the people living it.
FeaturingYou'll also hear firsthand from one of the Restart heroes who was among the first to respond at the Nova Music Festival site following the attack on October 7, 2023, joined by a delegation from Restart. Storytellers who faced down fear, found their strength, and rebooted their lives.
With additional remarks from the teams behind Nova Canada and Restart.

Her family never stopped fighting for her. Strangers never stopped fighting for her. Toronto never stopped fighting for her. The world watched them bring Mia home — and she came back with a thank you. On Tuesday, July 28, be in the room.

Use your hands to change a life. This isn't talks and videos — it's the part you'll never forget. After a 6:30 PM reception with kosher style food, we build together: assembling real assistive devices that attach to a crutch and give injured veterans back their independence for everyday moments, like cooking in their own kitchen. The devices we build that night go on to change the lives of 100 wounded veterans in the weeks after the event. Includes priority seating and the complimentary premium bar. Limited spots.

Your sponsorship sends an outside community member who couldn't otherwise be here. No seat back to you, just the right people in the room.
Not everyone who belongs in the room on July 28 can be there. Your sponsorship changes that. Every dollar goes toward admission for outside community members, people who should be there but for whom the cost is the barrier. You won't pick a name and you won't get a seat in return. You're simply making sure the right people are in the room. Give what you can. We'll carry your light to someone who needs it.
